KC Inks

A tattoo artist whose whole business ran through direct messages, who needed enquiries to arrive as bookings instead of a notification pile.

The brief

The work was never the problem

Tattooing is booked on trust and on portfolio. KC had both. What she did not have was anywhere for either to live — the portfolio was on social media, the enquiries arrived as direct messages across several apps, and every one of them had to be answered by hand before it could become an appointment.

That is a real cost, and it is paid twice. Once in the hours spent retyping the same questions about sizing, placement and deposits, and again in the enquiries that quietly go cold because the reply came two days later.

What we built

Inside the project

A consultation-first booking flow

Tattoos are not a slot you pick blind. The flow collects the idea, the placement and the reference images first, then offers a time — so the conversation starts already informed.

An installable phone app

The site installs to the home screen and behaves like an app, with push notifications so a new request reaches her without an inbox in between.

A digital business card

A shareable card at its own address with a QR code, so a conversation at a shop or a convention ends in a saved contact rather than a name to look up later.

A portfolio she controls

Work shown on her own site, in her own order, on a page that is not competing with an algorithm for whether anyone sees it.

Reference uploads handled properly

Clients attach the images they are working from when they enquire, rather than sending them separately and hoping they get matched up.

Findable for what she actually does

Written around romantasy and fine line work in Fort Worth, because that is the search that brings the right client rather than the most clients.

Where it stands

Enquiries that arrive ready to answer

An enquiry now arrives with the idea, the placement, the size and the reference images already attached, against a requested time. The back-and-forth that used to happen before an appointment could exist mostly happens inside the form.

The artist runs it herself. Portfolio pieces, the digital card, and the details on every page are hers to change, from the phone she already has in her hand — which for a one-person studio is the difference between a website that stays current and one that quietly goes stale.
